Researcher biography

Gonzalo is a Physician and PhD scholar at the Poche Centre for Indigenous Health Research. He graduated with distinction as a Doctor of Medicine from Universidad del Valle, Colombia and is now pursuing a PhD as he starts his clinical practice in Australia, as part of his professional development.

His main research interest is public health and neuroscience and seeks to combine the skills acquired during the PhD into clinical practice, producing impactful translational research.

Gonzalo won an international research training program scholarship with the University of Queensland, with which he is researching the impact of water disinfection by-products in maternal health
