The following opportunities exist for PhD students

Making a difference to the health outcomes of urban Indigenous people

The PhD candidates will contribute towards a transdisciplinary program of research across multiple content areas in studies seeking to optimise health services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People in certain hospital and health services areas in Queensland. These studies will have the potential to be scaled more broadly at the national and international levels.

Closing the final gaps in maternal and infant health: The Deadly Fit Mums Project

This project offers you the opportunity to work with leading researchers, including First Nations leaders, organisations and Communities, and to contribute to projects of national significance.

Integration and expansion of a sentinel surveillance system to improve infectious disease outcomes for Indigenous Australians

The project on offer will contribute to our understanding patterns of care across the network, epidemiological analyses of trends in STI, BBV and VPD testing and diagnosis in primary care, linkage with other surveillance systems, the social determinants of health and behavioural drivers of engagement with primary health care, and evaluation of interventions. The exact project will be determined in consultation with the selected applicant.

UQ Poche Centre HDR Top-Up Scholarships

This scholarship is awarded via a competitive scholarship process, but applicants can apply at any time. The scholarship will remain open until all scholarships are filled.

HDR scholarship opportunities

A generous scholarship opportunity is offered by UQ Poche to support Indigenous students who undertake a Higher Degree by Research (Masters by Research, MPhil or PhD) targeted at improving health and wellbeing outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
