Researcher biography

Brielle Pery is a public health Epidemiologist and has worked as a Senior Epidemiologist both at Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service and Metro North Health Service.
 
Brielle completed the Bachelor of Public Health (Health Promotion major) at Central Queensland University. She then completed the Master of Epidemiology at The University of Queensland (UQ). Her master’s thesis was on detecting cryptosporidiosis and Ross River virus outbreaks in the Gold Coast region.
 
In 2023, she began her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Epidemiology at UQ with the ATLAS Team. ATLAS is a sentinel surveillance system of infectious diseases from service-level data. Her topic is the integration and expansion of the ATLAS sentinel surveillance system to include vaccine-preventable diseases. In turn, this expansion expects to improve infectious disease outcomes for Indigenous Australians.
