Christopher Sexton is a biostatistician with The University of Queensland’s, Poche Centre for Indigenous Health. Christopher’s research has focused on socio-determinants of oral disease and equitable access to dental health care. He commenced his PhD in public oral health policy, specifically focusing on water fluoridation, research designs and childhood caries experience.
Within his current appointment, Christopher is contributing to projects as a Senior biostatistician. His contribution includes and extends beyond the following projects:
- Investigating the management of type-2 diabetes to lower the burden and incidence of disease within an urban Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community (InDiCare).
- Measuring the effectiveness of a point of care testing regime to reduce the prevalence of hepatitis C in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities (SCALE-C).
Christopher is an expert in quantitative study design and analysis, and has worked collaboratively across multiple health disciplines. As an early-career researcher, Christopher has contributed to research teams that have secured over 2M in competitive research funding. Christopher is the statistical advisor for the International Endondontic Journal.
