Renarta is a proud First Nations woman with family ties to the Bundjalung Nation, the Gunggandji people of Yarrabah, and the Australian South Sea Islander communities of Mackay and Rockhampton. Darumbal Country (Rockhampton) has been home for most of her life, where she now lives with her husband and their two daughters.

With more than 15 years of experience across the Central Queensland Health Service, Renarta’s health career began in pathology before moving into community engagement as part of the CQ Syphilis Response Team. She has continued her commitment to community health through her role as a Public Health Officer for Indigenous Health.

Throughout her time in Public Health, Renarta has had the opportunity to contribute to public health responses, clinical trials and First Nations led research, experiences that have strengthened her passion for improving health equity and outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples. Currently pursuing further studies in Nursing, Renarta aims to continue contributing to research and advancing better health outcomes and life expectancy for her community and country.
