
Zamira is a proud Nunukul and Nughi woman with family ties to the Cherbourg and Springsure area and connections to Sicily, Italy.
Zamira is in the role of Senior Research Technician for the Blak and Proud Project, UQ Poche Centre for Indigenous Health. Career background has spanned across Indigenous engagement in community development, education, employment, justice, employment, child protection and health services in South East Queensland and at a National level.
With a strong foundation in practical and community-informed research from over 20 years in community development and the human services sector they're keen to expand those skills into formal academic research methods and outputs.
