Helena is a Research Officer at the UQ Poche Centre for Indigenous Health. 

She completed her BA(Hons)/LLB at the University of Queensland and completed her MA in political science at the University of British Columbia, Canada. Her thesis critically explored the British Columbia Treaty process.

She returned to Brisbane to practice native title law and then undertook further graduate research work at the University of Tasmania. Her research interests include international comparative Indigenous politics and law, critical legal theory and feminist theory.

Helena has recently commenced a PhD through UQ's School of Political Science and International Studies.
