As the Inaugural Director of the Midwifery Research Unit, Professor Kildea leads research across distances. She is currently working on a number of international projects focussed on improving pregnancy and labour, and promoting natural births. Her expertise lies in introducing and evaluating innovative models of maternity service delivery, and she has a passion for strengthening rural and remote maternity services particularly those that lead to care provision for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families.
